What is the lesson taught by the Mariner's calamities upon his voyage?

well there are a bunch of different possibilities so your gonna have to be a bit more specific

getting ready for work:

i sit up in bed, the time is 6: 15.

i go in the bathroom and take a long hot shower and brush my teeth.

i get dressed then grab my keys and open the door, then i realize it is raining so i go back   and get an umbrella.

when i get in my car it has very little gas and right when i get there my car runs out of gas.

when i get inside i am fired for being late.
