(Serves eight people.)

One popular side dish for a barbecue or summer dinner is fried zucchini. This tasty vegetable is sure to please even the pickiest eater. To get started, you will need the following ingredients:

Food

2 medium-sized zucchini

2 cups of flour

5 eggs

a dash of milk

2 cups of Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs

salt (to taste)

1 cup vegetable oil

Materials

1 large skillet

1 serrated knife

a cutting board

2 forks

1 spoon

2 paper towels

2 plates

1 medium-sized bowl

a stove

a clean surface, such as a kitchen counter

1 foot of wax paper

a sink

hand soap

a garbage can

Before beginning, wash your hands to eliminate all germs.

First, thoroughly wash your zucchini under cool water. Next, place the zucchinis on a cutting board. Caution: When you use your serrated knife, be extremely cautious so that do you do not cut yourself. Grab your serrated knife and cut off the ends of both zucchini. Next, begin slicing your zucchini in even circular pieces. Set the pieces aside.

On a clean surface, lay your wax paper flat. You can use one long sheet or two smaller sheets. Spoon out approximately 1 cup of flour, placing it on the left side of the wax paper. On the right side, pour out approximately 1 cup of Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs. Next, crack 5 eggs into a medium bowl and whisk with a fork until well blended. Sprinkle a touch of salt and add a dash of milk into the egg mixture. Mix again until thoroughly blended.

Take one piece of zucchini at a time and coat in a thin layer of flour. Next, dip the zucchini in the egg mixture until fully coated. Using the same fork you whisked the eggs with, pick up the zucchini and let the excess egg drip back into the bowl. Place the zucchini on top of the bread crumbs and coat evenly. Place your breaded zucchini on a plate. Repeat this process until all of the zucchini are breaded. You may or may not need more flour and breadcrumbs. Add small amounts, if need be, as you bread.

Wash your hands again to rid yourself of the coating of flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs caked on your fingers.

Now place your skillet on the stove. Pour in approximately 1 cup of vegetable oil, or enough to thinly coat the bottom of the skillet, and turn the stove on medium heat. Let the oil heat up for approximately 5 minutes. Caution: Do not stand over the skillet or touch the skillet or oil at any time. While the oil heats up, you may want to clean up any leftover flour, egg, and breadcrumbs by disposing of them in the garbage can.

Once the oil has heated, carefully take a clean fork and place anywhere from 5 to 7 zucchini pieces in the oil. The amount of zucchini you can cook will depend on the size of your skillet. To cook the zucchini properly, you want to evenly distribute the pieces so that they do not touch each other. Let the zucchini cook on one side for approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Occasionally check the bottom of the zucchini to see if they have browned. Once golden brown, flip the zucchini pieces, and let them cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. If you notice the zucchini blackening, turn down the heat a little and cook less on each side. Next, grab a plate and place two paper towels on top of the plate. This will catch the excess oil from the zucchini. Once the zucchini has cooked, use a fork to place the pieces carefully on the plate with the paper towels. Repeat this process until all of the zucchini are cooked. Finally, sprinkle the zucchini pieces with a little salt as desired, and then serve. Enjoy!

Read the passage first of all if someone says your dream is impossible, they’re wrong. you can’t prove that something is impossible-all you know is that[it] hasn’t been done yet. people said no one could scale mount everest but in 1953, sir edmund hilary and tenzing norway gazed down upon the world from it’s summit. people said that man could not fly, but in 1903, orville and wilbur wright made the first sustained powered flight in a heavier-than-air machine. people said, “okay, we admit that someone could climb mount everest, and we admit that man has learned to fly, but no one will ever, ever walk on the face of the moon.” if we can send three men a quarter of a million miles away and bring them home safely, is there any great task we cannot accomplish? which identifies the textual evidence that best supports the claim: the authors purpose is to persuade? a: the author shares historical information about the wright brothers. b: the author states that men have walked the moon. c: the author states that others who think your dreams are impossible are wrong. d: the author wants to know what tasks we cannot accomplish.
