Read the passage. The Internet has brought many opportunities for learning to students of all ages. The ability to read books online is mostly seen as a
wonderful new convenience. It has, however, had an unexpected side effect. Many libraries in surrounding towns are struggling to stay open. The
shift from paper books to online versions means that fewer people are going to the library to browse through the shelves. Fewer people are making
their way to the front desk with a pile of books to borrow and read.
Some say the loss of this experience would be a real disaster. Children have enjoyed the pleasure of getting their library cards for hundreds
of years. Nothing will ever replace the look and feel of a book or the pleasure of slowly turning the pages as adventures and mysteries spill out.
Which word is closest in meaning to disaster?
1.

2. puzzle
