Authors want their readers to identify and connect with the universal themes in their stories. Themes such as love, hate, envy, jealousy, hope, fear, or power are all are expressed through carefully crafted characters, conflicts, dialogue, and settings.
After reading the selection, Arachne, decide the universal theme(s) the author wanted to convey and write a literary analysis that defends your thematic choice with textual evidence.
