For some time, NASA has been trying to find evidence of life on Mars. According to the write-up, this will be the 9th mission to Mars.

3) The essential object which is aboard rover Perseverance is an autonomous helicopter named ingenuity that is about 1.8 kilograms. It will be performing test powered flight on Mars for the first time.
