The first thing Maggie heard was the noise-a low rumble like thunder. It
started softly, but quickly grew into a roar. Maggie could feel the sound
in her feet. Then she heard a cracking noise, like ice splitting apart. And
the ground jumped-suddenly-to one side. The walls of the building
