If I could change one thing about the modern world, it would be the world wide pollution because it is bad for the animals and us, but we still do it because, in my opinion, it is easier to pollute the ground and the air then to throw away your trash, and not drive around a lot.

A lack of this system would enable us to open gateways to  exploration of our universe, grant unthinkable sciences the funding they would have required. But a deeper reason is the needy of this world, less than 2 billion people on this world are well set and have basic needs provided, that is alarming. The alteration would be astronomical with improved economies and more minds working hard for the prospering humanity which would occur
