This is what i have Lacoon tried to warn the Trojans to not bring the wooden horse into Troy, but then he was killed by Athena's sea serpents, and the Trojans thought Athena had killed Lacoon because he had thrown a spear at the wooden horse and said that the horse couldn't be trusted. They thought he had died because he had offended Athena. Culture dramatically affects heroes.
