Yes, children are able to make things that could be helpful to others.

Explanation:

Children are smart and are at the stage of life where they can assimilate many things they are taught. President Obama encouraged the White House Science Fair in 2016 because children are the future of the society and will innovate things that will make for a better society. Therefore, they deserved to be celebrated. The School Science Fair allows competition by students from different classes through their science projects.

All of these help to make children productively engaged and innovative. Having understood the principles behind science, the can make things that could be helpful to others.
