★ A two day weekend is not nearly enough to make up for or recover from the crushing stress and sleep deprivation of a five day school week. A three day weekend following four days of school would benefit students immensely. For one, a longer weekend would give students extra time to rest, do homework, and be part of other activities. A shortened school week would also be easier to deal with for students, as it wouldn’t be so many days in a row of getting up early and working for hours. Lastly, having more time off and time to prepare for a shorter week would be beneficial for teachers.An extended weekend would help solve problems, even if it only applied to schools.
