The first Act of Romeo & Juliet make a prediction explaining how the play will unfold. In the first part of the play there is a fight between the two families Montague and Capulet. They both are rich families that compete to be the better out of the other. We also see that Juliet is forced to marry someone she may not like, which holds for a little rebellion that she will not marry someone so rich, just to keep the family wealthier. The beginning also hints that the families arguing will result in something tragic to happen to the children because they are so caught up in the fighting to be better. An example of this in the play is, "Their unfortunate deaths put an end to their parents' feud. For the next two hours, we will watch the story of their doomed love and their parents' anger, which nothing but the children’s deaths could stop." The two families that argue non-stop show that they only care about there status in Verona. They do not pay attention to there kids so long as they can use them to make the family look more rich or high in power. Understanding that the two families have been arguing way before the two kids where born may result in lack of attention from the parents and a change in rebellion to prove that you don't need to have wealth in your life to feel happy.
