Tittle: Missing Dog Poster C H 1 Have you seen my dog?

In chapter 1, Buck is stolen and sold by the treacherous Manuel. We never learn how Judge Miller feels after losing his dog. Your job is to help Judge Miller in the search for his beloved dog. Create a missing poster for Buck that can be hung up in the Santa Clara Valley area. Be sure to include all of the required information listed below.

Missing Poster Requirements:

-All writing must be typed or written in marker/colored pencils. You can do this on paper, or electronically

-Must have a large heading or title.

-Must include:

A picture of Buck (either drawn by hand or from the internet). The dog should look similar to what a St. Bernard/Scotch Shepherd mix would be. Use the physical description in the book to assist you.

- A description of Buck's physical appearance and behavior/personality. (Remember this would be according to Judge Miller or one of the Miller children.) Any details from the book must have a page numbers after them in parenthesis. (The first few pages of the chapter will be most helpful.)

- A reasonable reward. Remember, Buck was sold to Francois and Perrault for $300. He was exchanged for $150 to the people that assisted in his kidnapping. Judge Miller is a rich man. How much is Buck worth to him?

-Contact information. Create a unique address using the information Buck gives us in his description of Judge Miller's home. The city is Santa Clara Valley and the state is California.

-Include where Buck was last seen and with whom. Use what really happened to Buck in your clues to Buck's whereabouts. Any specific details from the book that are used should be followed with page numbers in parenthesis.

Read the selection below and answer the question. an open boat by alfred noyes o, what is that whimpering there in the darkness?

look. i'll wrap all my hair round his neck' – the sea's rising,
the boat must be lightened. he's dead. he must go.'

see - quick - by that flash, where the bitter foam tosses,
the cloud of white faces, in the black open boat,
and the wild pleading woman that clasps her dead lover
and wraps her loose hair round his breast and his throat.
'come, lady, he's dead.' - 'no, i feel his heart beating,
he's living, i know. but he's numbed with the cold.
see, i'm wrapping my hair all around him to warm him.' -
- 'no. we can't keep the dead, dear. come, loosen your hold.

'come. loosen your fingers.' - 'o god, let me keep him! ' -
