In their first year at Hogwarts, even before arriving at school, his aunt and uncle hadn't wanted him going there. When at school, Draco Malfoy was a constant bully to Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Hagrid had adopted a baby dragon in chapter 14, and found out it was against the rules to have dragons at school. (big surprise there). Then there was the stone itself. Harry knew that something important was hidden at school, and he suspected Severus Snape for the longest time. Fluffy, the giant three headed dog was guarding the stone, and beyond that, Harry had to find out who was trying to stal the stone.
