In the movie "The Call of the Wild", there are many scenes that are necessary and unnecessary. On the screenplay, Buck acts like a rabid dog, and attacks Indians with ease. He then growls like he got kicked hard, and snarls like a mutant bear. Those scenes are necessary, since they represent the book most. As for the part when he eats food and sleeps, that is not important to the screenplay, since those are things that you will think, "Well, duh!". So there you have it.
