Mythology in general is an influence in modern literature. Greeks were the first the European civilization to make a complex literature. It influences us in many different ways today. Thanks to the Greeks today we can write history, philosophy, comedy, and poetry. One of the oldest epic poetry besides Odyssey is Iliad written by Homer around 800 BC.

The Odyssey and Iliad is both is the most wiled read book mostly the set stander in storytelling like the hero's joinery influence us today. Back then this was a way of understanding there world they turn there world problems into poems and stories. In the Greeks myth they created great literature that influence how we write and seek.
