How do I find the purpose and point of view (position/perspective)? Infer by analyzing the author’s tone, word choice, and textual evidence! Ask yourself: • What was the of the author? Was it or? • What words or phrases were “loaded” with? • What was provided, and what ideas did the evidence support?

How do authors distinguish their point of view (position) from others?
