But as of today there are many recreations of the short story such as black and white short film and animation. The interpretation of the short story by different directors are similar but different, each director adds their own twist and imagination into their film based on “The Tell Tale Heart”. “The Tell Tale Heart” was about a man taking care of a more mature man that is about murder, betrayal, guilt, and insanity.

Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Tell Tale Heart” short story was recreated into a short film by Freak Daddy Productions and an animation by Jung, these films sound way different from each other, they have many similarities. For example some things that these films have in common are that they both have a setting in a scary, horrifying, uncomfortable mansion that looks like it could have some dangers. Another example is that they both contain the younger man freaking out and telling the police that he had killed the old man and they both pull up the floorboards that the old man was hidden under and exposed himself for what he had done. And last but not least, both films showed that the younger man was caring and loved the old man but he couldn't stand his eye anymore so he freaked out and killed the older man.

These two short films have many differences as well, for example they have different outside settings because the Freak Daddy short film had a thunderstorm and a very rainey setting but very different from the animation by Jung which had a normal outside setting, there was no storm or anything along those lines, another difference between the two are that the younger man in each film killed the older man in a different way, the short film contained him killing the older man by hitting him on his head then flipping over the mattress and suffocating the old man. And last but definitely not least they have a difference of where in the house they hide the body under the floorboards, in the animation it was in the old man's bedroom and in the black and white film the old man was buried under the floorboards in front of the fireplace.

As you can see from the two different videos, each director thinks different and this shows that everybody has different ideas and creativity. I think that its crazy that someone would commit a murder on someone you care about just because they have a creepy fake eye!
