Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to other artistic mediums.
First, read this excerpt from the play. In this scene, Mercutio, Romeo's friend, and Tybalt, Juliet's cousin,
engage in a fight. Multiple bystanders are present, including Romeo. Prior to this conflict, Tybalt had
challenged Romeo to a duel, but Romeo had declined. Instead, Mercutio steps up in Romeo's defense.
