it is a poem about the beautiful voice of the angel Israfel and how this angel could likely not sing as well if he were in the mortal relm. he would be brought down by the struggles of mortality and the lives and feelings of mortals.

As the angel Israfel,

And the giddy stars (so legends tell),

Ceasing their hymns, attend the spell
