Do you believe in the American dream?

If I had to answer the question whether I believe in the American Dream, I would simply say that in a way I do. I understand some people get brought into bad situations with no control but usually there is a way out. Most people never find there way out because they give up before they even gave themselves a chance, which I completely understand. However, the American Dream isn’t about pursuing opportunity, it is about learning what you want and trying your hardest to achieve that. I believe it is a certain mentality to achieve the American Dream, “it does not matter where you came from. It matters where you are going...”(Condoleezza Rice). The American Dream is achieved through sacrifice, risk taking and hard work.
