Please hel I wrote an essay and I need to know what readers can learn about reading this essay, it’s about a book called Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and also about true friendship. Please help
The essay:

P1) Does good friendship make life easier? Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, is about two men, George and Lennie, who follow each other around while looking for a job. George and Lennie travel together which creates a strong bond between them. Lennie remains positive and cheerful even with his disabilities by staying confident and knowing that he and George will once meet their dream in the ranch. Along the story they meet many other people which some do cause problems for Lennie and George, one of them is Curley. John Steinbeck's book Of Mice and Men teaches readers a lot about friendship. Specifically it shows that a true friend will stay together for as long as they can, and will accept each other as is.

P2) George has parent-like characteristics, he is serious and caring towards Lennie. A quote that shows good friendship is, “and George raised the gun and steadied it, he and he brought a muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie’s head. The hand shook violently, but his face set and his hand steadied. He pulled the trigger. ” (Steinbeck 106) This quote is an example of good friendship because George shot Lennie because he cared about him he didn’t want him to die in a regrettable and sufferable way, he shot him to put him out of his misery not that he wanted to shoot him but it was for lennie’s good in which George would not regret. It was a very meaningful friendship but he had to do what he had to do.

P3) Lennie is a kind person who has a mental disability, even though his disability can cause some problems George still decides to stick with Lennie. A quote that shows true friendship is, “But not us! Why? Because… because I got you to look after me and you got me to look after you, and that’s why.” (Steinbeck 14) This quote shows they have a good friendship by them both being there for each other whenever needed. No matter how hard the situation they’ll do something in each other's power to help themselves get out of it.

P4) Candy is an old man who has no one to talk to or keep him company besides his dog. To him the dog was more than an animal that struggled, it was a friend to share life with. Candy has been alongside his dog for all of the dog's life and had much fun with him. A quote that shows true friendship is, "Well hell. I had him so long. Had him since he was a pup. Herded sheep with him" (Steinbeck 44). This shows that Candy never got tired of being with his dog and the dog was the only one who has been there all his life keeping him company. When Candy's dog is killed, Candy wishes he had done it himself. He feels guilty about not having shot the dog himself.

P5) My major theme for the book Of Mice and Men by John Steincheck was about true friends. George, lennie and candy all teach readers a lesson, George understands that candy had just lost his dog and since George and Lennie are planning on building up a stake and get a little place to live, Candy offers to join since he has no place, relatives to go so that’s how their close friendship began. I believe that even today friendships like this still exist with people with disabilities, and not only them but with people with common situations. Therefor readers can learn...
