But not only that, you might need to save someone else's life as well. On two separate occasions, I have helped kids in trouble in a wave pool. If I had not known how to swim, I would have been clinging helplessly to a tube. In fact, I would have been so focused on my own safety that I wouldn't even have noticed the kids who needed help.
