DELIVERING A SPEECH
Now that you have written a solid argument, you are going to translate that essay into a persuasive speech. Speeches are not essays. So, you cannot simply read your essay and say "That's my speech," because the language of an essay is formal and written in an objective tone. It would be very uninteresting for an audience. Therefore, using your essay as a core, revise the essay so that it would be interesting to listen to. Consider how you would emphasize certain points with voice inflections. Identify strong points that you want to emphasize. Where can you pause after a strong idea for effect? Do you need to change your tone and syntax to evoke more emotion from the audience? If so, go ahead and do that in your essay.

Once you have made changes so that your essay is now a deliverable speech, practice your speech. Record yourself and listen to your voice. Is it interesting?

Are your words clear and understandable?
Is the pacing of the speech effective for an audience?
Do you need to slow down?
Keep the goal of your speech in mind. Make any changes to convince your audience that they should agree with your claim. Can you use any familiar examples to support your points? Have you addressed the opposition and respectfully proven that those counter-claims are invalid? Remember to use evidence from Kennedy's speech to support your speech position.

The audience of your speech will be your peers. So even though you will use formal word choice because you are addressing an educated audience, you are still going to put interest into your voice so that you can engage your audience.
