An enormous cavern was recently discovered in British Columbia's Wells Gray Provincial Park in the Canadian wilderness. Although the sheer size of the gaping hole is astounding, researchers believe it may have never been seen by human eyes before.

The giant cave, which has not yet been named, was first seen by helicopter in April during a caribou counting flight. Although the helicopter crew was lucky to accidentally spot this enormous void, the real mystery is how no one has ever seen it before, especially when you consider that the mouth of the cave measures approximately 328 feet long by 197 feet wide. To put this in perspective, you could turn the Statue of Liberty on its side and fit it into the cave's mouth, pedestal and all, and still have some wiggle room left over.
