Once Marlow leaves the Company’s Offices where the Accountant was, Marlow embarked on a 200 mile long walk with a caravan of 60 men toward the Central Station. It took 15 days to make the journey. Once he gets there, someone tells him that his steamer (boat) was at the bottom of the river. The immediately disheartens Marlow and he goes to see the Station Manager. The manager isn’t polite and inspired an “uneasiness” in Marlow.
