It's time to write your own haiku.
HINTS: * You can write about a traditional subject or a more modern one.
* If you are struggling to come up with something to write, look around you. Write about an ordinary object that you see every day, but describe it with as much sensory and figurative language as you can
. * Choose only the most descriptive, interesting, precise words to include in your haiku.
* It is a good idea to leave out any article (a, an, the), unless they are absolutely necessary to your haiku.
* The syllable pattern is as follows: lines one and three have five syllables each; line two has seven syllables. Make sure to let your teacher know before you move on to the next step.
