A "Cassandra" is someone who wams other people of a future danger but is not believed or heeded. The
term comes from a story in Greek mythology in which Cassandra, the daughter of a king and queen, was
given the gift of accurately seeing the future by the god Apollo, who was in love with her. However, when
Cassandra did not love him back, Apollo became angry and placed a spell that prevented anyone from
believing her predictions.
