I'In Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart," the narrator describes how he suffocated an old
man to death because of the old man's ghastly eye. He claims he is not insane, but was just very
"nervous" and "wise." Yet, are there clues in his narration to reveal otherwise?
Closely examine the narrator's testimony to determine the reliability of his account of events.
Then write an argumentative essay about whether the narrator is guilty of murder and should be put in
prison or is not guilty by reason of insanity and should be put in a mental hospital.
Consider

state of mind,
and actions to frame your case
and support your argument with evidence from the text.
