What does the author mean by "born or made"? for getting comfortable with poetry.

My philospophy on this quote relates to sports. For an example, you like to play basketball. Some people are born talented and athletic. They don't have to put extra effort into the sport because they just get it. Then there are other people who may not be as good as these talented individuals. They have to work extra hard to get plays down. They may be slow and have to work on it. However, after lots of work they can be just as good as the person that was born with natural ability. Basically, some people are more able than others. The people that aren't as able work hard to better the version of themselves.
