OBJECTIVE IN THE COURSE: How do art and literature describe the society that produced them? How do historical events, social systems, and culture influence each other?

OUR OBJECTIVE:

Scaffold research with students finding and citing sources to answer research questions.

Before you start reading, think about today’s historical, social, and cultural climate. What causes and effects can you identify? For example, what historical events sparked debate and changes in the contemporary social scene? How do important events influence literature, music, and the visual arts?
