Explain this quote in The Monkey's Paw “As I wished. It twisted in my hand like a snake.”

Oh my gosh this brings back memories to 8th grade lol I remember reading this!

This quote is saying, when i spoke my wish, the monkey's paw started to move in a creepy, mysterious way. It's unique way of twisting can be compared to how a snake slithers
