Read the passage. A Softball Game or Washington, D. C.? Eighteen-year old Jaime King was an All American gymnastics athlete at a Division 1 university in Maryland. Training for the national champlonships was about to begin, but first, Jaime had one free weekend. She planned to go to Washington, D. C. with three of the girls on the team. Jaime found it difficult to juggle her busy schedule, and this was going to be a welcome break from the stress of schoolwork and the demands of her rigorous athletic training, Jaime was packing her suitcase on Thursday night in her dorm room when her phone rang. Her eleven-year-old cousin, Ava, was on the other end. Ava lived just a few miles away from Jaime's school, and Jaime knew that Ava idolized her. Ava went to her gymnastics meets whenever they were close by and clipped local newspaper articles about Jaime's accomplishments to hang on her family's refrigerator. Jaime thought it was fun that her cousin looked up to her as much as Ava did. "Hi, Jaime!" Ava's squeaky voice said excitedly. "Guess what?" she said. "What's going on Ava?" Jaime asked. "My softball team made it to the championship game! It's this Saturday. We play the West Highland Warriors. Can you come?" she asked hopefully Jaime sucked in her breath.
