Why does Mister Toussaint's refrigerator order more groceries?

The Brave Little Toaster is a short children's fictional story written by Cory Doctorow.  The story is about the electric gadgets of the main character, who have gone crazy and begins to interfere with the life of the protagonist. These crazy gadgets does not leave the protagonist even when he wants to get rid of them, so to destroy them, he melts them using an old toaster.

In the story, Mister Toussaint's refrigerator ordered groceries worth 300 euros. When Mister Toussaint asked refrigerator about why he ordered these groceries, to this it replied that all the food inside was spoiled.

And the refrigerator was informed about spoiled food by Loony Goony, a drink, who confessed to be more stronger than a coffee.

Loony Goony was destroyed in the end by melting it in the 'brave little' toaster.
