Parallel structure is a stylistic device, and a grammatical construction having two or more clauses, phrases or words, with similar grammatical form and length. It is similar to parallelism. (Not my definition)

*bad paragraph* - Marine animals and plants are in danger. (I don't know lol) Humans are the reason. *The oceans and seas where places filled with life. Now it is polluted and dirty.* Humans are throwing in trash, and spilling oil. Plastic and trash kills the animals and oil and trash kill the life. (lol i dunno) I don't really know a lot about ocean pollution and stuff so I have to end it there ;-;

the anecdote makes readers feel sorry for the man’s lack of heritage, then reminds readers that the man has an equally valuable heritage.
