Write an interesting story which ends with the words, It pays to be kind to strangers

I'm walking down the sidewalk, rain surrounding me, touching me like tiny needles. I'm almost to the bus stop, as I pull out my umbrella. I have one more stop before I can get a ride home. I board the bus, and get off a block away from my local grocery store. I walk the rest of the way. I hear the rain falling from the sky, splashing into self made puddles. I start to dance. It may sound weird, but the rain calms me as I waltz to the store, my shoes clacking into the hard cement. As I'm walking, I notice something in the corner of my eye. In an alleyway, a small frail woman and her child are huddling together trying to stay warm in the freezing rain. I walk over, each step slow and small. When I finally get to the woman's feet, I lean down and hesitantly give her my umbrella. I then walk away humming as I head to the store in the rain. I wish I had my umbrella, but the look on the woman's face, her smile, made it worth it. I guess it pays to be kind to strangers.
