Then the Declaration lists what I think are righteous charges to support its assertion that
the British government failed to protect the
rights of American colonists. Some of the
awful things the British have done are
preventing the Americans from passing local
laws, stealing American tax dollars without
representation, and keeping standing armies
of Redcoats in the colonies.
