Percy and his friends were lured by Aces the god of war to go the river bank to bring his shield that he forgot at the river bank in exchange he promise to tell Percy about his mum. They had a terrible experience while at the river as they were attack by spider that led to them jumping off their boat. They got back tired and Percy slept off with his friends he then dream of the being in a pit talking with his servant and the voice was familiar to Percy and the being showed him an image of her mother who longs for him.

The Hades recognize why Percy was in the dream and decide to show him is mother.
