Dear Sir Myles,

I  am writing this missive or letter to ask  for permission to be absent from school for the next three days. The reason to be absent is that I have lost my grandmother who died three weeks ago in California so my family and I will be travelling to prepare for her funeral so I will not be in school for three days. We need to pack up to get ready for our journey.

Hope my reason for my absence from school will be taken into consideration.
