There are a plethora of answers here. Acceptable answers can be either 34, or 35.

The reasoning is because once you kill them, the question explicitly does not say whether the people are moved out of the bedroom so it can still be 34. Also the question does not address clearly whether you are one of the 34, so 35 is also another option. I think that 35 would be the best answer however due to the present tense of "entered" and due to the past tense of "are". And that means that 34 people were in the room until you entered.
