What is an important message from the book memory maze

The Maze Runner novel illustrates how some people need to repress traumatic memories in order to maintain hope and a sense of self, while others seek to uncover and learn from these memories in order to deal with the problems of the present.

Long story short, it leaves a very inportant message of remembering the past, but also think more deeply in the future and present.
