After reading Jack London’s “To Build a Fire” and watching the video, please answer the following questions thoroughly, using complete sentences. I want you to express your own ideas and to then support those ideas with the text. Be thorough!

How would you describe the relationship between the main character and the wolf over the course of the story? How do they seem to feel about each other? Provide examples from the text.
In the video, I discussed the themes of perseverance and pride. By the end of the story, the unnamed main character dies. Why do you think he didn’t take the cold seriously (until it was too late)? How did pride and perseverance play a role in his death?
The main character says the old man that advised him not to travel alone in the cold was like a woman. What quality or qualities does the old man have that the main character views as unmanly? Why do you think he views that quality as womanly?
What is the lesson to be learned from “To Build a Fire”?
