I'm trying to write an essay for english on the corona virus versus the spanish flu of 1918 and I don't know how to start or write my introductory paragraph. Can someone please help me?

For your introduction I would start out by saying something like ... "The Spanish Flu of 1918 to this day is deemed as one the most devastating and fatal pandemics in world history as it (name some of the awful effects it had on societes that were affected by it). Then you could go on to say something like...  "After the global population was relieved of the devastation of this pandemic, and it's lasting effects that made a semi-permanent imprint on the way in which societies went about their lives of this pandemic, socities hoped an experience such as this one would never curse human society again." Then I would discuss the corona virus like I have the spanish flu and some up the paragraph and introduce the thesis statement somewhat like this.. "While there are many distinctive differences in which these two pandemics came about, their effects on society, and their effects on economy; there are many striking similarities between the two pandemics despite the massive gap in time when they happened.
