How does this quote relate to today’s generation of young people? Give an example of how you, or young people in general, have chosen to “evade” authority because you/they felt you/they could not successfully “rebel” against it.

A lot of us were born after 9/11, or don't remember anything that happened before that. Laws used to be more lenient and people weren't as paranoid, before 9/11, and before it, rebellion was possible. Now, we choose to evade authority, because we can't rebel without getting in trouble. (if you are like a first gen. American, then this can be used)

BEcause of the internet, it is very easy to keep tabs on someone. If we decided to rebel, that would follow us in our records, most of which are online. If you get in trouble at school, this can go on your permanent record, which is searchable. If you get in trouble with the law, the same thing applies. We can't afford to rebel, because it would follow us for the rest of our lives.
