A phrase does not have both a subject and predicate. A subordinate clause contains both a subject and predicate as well as a subordinating conjunction. It is not a complete idea on its own because the subordinating conjunction causes it to be dependent. For example, I folded the laundry when it was done. The subordinate clause is "when it was done". The subject is "it", and the predicate is "was done". However, the conjunction "when" makes the clause subordinate because the reader still needs to know what happened when. An independent clause is just a regular sentence like "He ran." A compound sentence contains two independent clauses joined with a conjunction and a comma, or a semicolon.

to me i think class room sitting education is better. i do online school and i have not learned a think haha. when i sit in the classroom i just sit there and kind of pay attention but still i get so far ahead in the class when im doing online i have nothing else better to do but play video games and i sit in school and learn and have friends and just actually learn. when i'm doing online i sit here listing to music and get on and and look up the answers i guess that is my fault for being a cheater. but to be honest i think sitting in the classroom is better.
