Mary committed a murderer on her husband, Patrick Maloney. The murderer began when Patrick decided to tell her that he wanted to leave her. In the text, it says, “And he told her. It didn’t take long, four or five minutes at most, and she stayed very still through it all, watching him with a kind of dazed horror as he went further and further away from her with each word.” Clearly, it states that he wants to leave her. At this point, she got mad and decided to kill him since she loved him all his life and now wants him to leave her. As a result, she decided to kill him then to talk it out. As evidence, in the text, it says “At that point, Mary Maloney simply walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head.” This means that he used a lamb leg to hit and sadly, he died. This is a crime of passion because if it were planned, there would have been more happening than just an attack. For example, she would have known what to do if he wanted to kill him. However, she just grabbed out a lamb leg and hit it. On the other hand, she could have just smacked him with a steel club, but she didn’t. As evidence, in the text, it says, “She might just as well have hit him with a steel club.” This means that she didn’t plan on using a steel cup because everything was quickly thought. As a result, this is a huge piece that proves that it has not been planned. Due to this, I think this was not planned and is a murderer.
