Paragraph 1 Many presidents of the United States owned pets. This pet was Lincoln's pet dog, Honey. Many people do not realize how much Abraham Lincoln loved animals. Throughout his lifetime, he owned several pets including dogs, cats, goats, and horses. One pet in particular stands out from the others. Paragraph 2 As a child, Lincoln liked to explore caves. Lincoln found his dog Honey when he was only 11 years old. There were a series of deep caves worthy of exploring. She was injured and lying near some caves in Indiana. Lincoln did not believe that animals should be treated cruelly. Paragraph 3 While exploring an underground cave, the boy fell into a deep hole. Now it was Honey's opportunity to repay the young Abe for his kindness to her. The boy took the dog home and helped her get well. They became close friends. One day, the pair went back to the caves where the boy first discovered Honey. Paragraph 4 Abe's faithful friend Honey howled and barked at the edge of the hole where he was trapped. Fortunately, a farmer heard Honey and discovered the future president lying in pain. The farmer quickly rescued the boy by using ropes. Honey had managed to repay Lincoln for the kindness and help he had shown her. Which paragraph is organized in the most logical order?
