How does Byron incorporate elements of the myth of Prometheus in his poem?

Byron’s “Prometheus” myths presents a total different perspective. It does this with a purpose for rebellion than the ancient myths.

The poem gives a description of the similarities between Titan and man. That can be found in lines 47-50.

It means that like Prometheus, Man is part divine. Stating the fact that they were both created by a divinity. Man has an ability of that allows him to foresee death which will eventually come because of man's frailty and mortality.

The following lines:

"Like thee, Man is part divine,

/ A troubled stream from a pure source;

/ And Man in portions can foresee

/ His own funereal destiny (47-50).

The above lines also give an explanation of one of the gifts Prometheus. It's said that Prometheus has given Man, the gift of partial prophesy.

Take this to heart the message: The Promethean Spirit, is a symbol of strength for a struggling humanity.

The struggle is worth the price of DEATH!
