It may seem small, but just knowing that will create a stronger bond and more people will respect you if you respect them back. You should also communicate to the person or group of people if they're bothering you or saying something rude. Just communicating to others such as friends, family, and s/o will have a better understanding of your thinking and see things through your eyes. If you don't put up some boundaries, people will walk all over you and make you self-conscious about these things they do or say. Self-care is a MUST and it's not a selfish act, it's just putting yourself first in this situation.
