Villain or Victim?
Context: Great authors develop multi-faceted characters who mirror the complexity of regular
people. Just as none of us is all bad or all good, neither are the characters in a well-developed
work of literature.
Directions: You will essentially take on the role of prosecutor or defense attorney to construct an
argument in favor of or against a particular character in terms of his or her responsibility for the
events that occurred in Salem.
