Why do you suppose many adults pine for the "good old days," either an earlier era in history or their own youthful high school/college days? Is this generally a harmless or harmful thing? Why?

Life was much easier in the past as there where much opportunities from which it was easy to exploit.

In earlier history, there were fewer limits, the achievements of personalities were more extensive than at present and most of the available individual time is used to complete novel tasks was there whereby they become renown.

In our youthful high school / college days, most where being supported, having less to worry about, while still being an able to think for themselves, coupled with the energy of youth and the forgiving nature of the body of youngster and the opportunity to have a second chance as well as to decide on ones future path makes almost everyone yearn for it.
